WHAT MAKES A LEADER ?

Effective are leaders are alike in a crucial way, all of them have a high degree of emotional intelligence which consists of 5 components: Self-Awareness, Self-Regulation, Motivation, Empathy and Social Skill. Self-Awareness has the ability to recognize and understand your moods, emotions and drives, as well as their effect on others. Second is Self-Regulation has the ability to redirect disruptive impulses and moods as the propensity to suspend judgment to think before acting. People who have mastered their emotions are able to roll with the changes. They don’t panic. The next thing is Motivation where a person has a passion to work for some reasons so that they can gain something beyond money or status; it is also a propensity to pursue goals with energy and persistence. Motivation creates a strong drive to achieve optimism, even in the face of failure organizational commitment. The fourth component is Empathy which has the ability to understand the emotional makeup of other people and skill in treating people according to emotional reactions. Empathy is expertise in building and retaining talent as well as cross-cultural sensitivity, service to clients and customers. Last is the Social Skill which is proficiency in managing relationships and building networks and an ability to find common ground and build rapport. It also has effectiveness in leading change to persuasiveness and expertise in building and leading teams.
